Lesson 9
Consent is a Superpower
Consent is framed as a positive tool for connection, not just a protection rule. Covers asking before touching, saying yes and no, respecting others' answers, and what outing is and why it is harmful.

Key Ideas

  • Consent means asking before you touch someone and respecting their answer.
  • Everyone is the boss of their own body.
  • Saying yes to a hug is giving consent. Saying no is also giving consent because you are in charge.
  • People can change their minds about what they want, and that must be respected.
  • If someone says no, stop, or do not, we stop immediately. This counts for everyone.
  • Outing means sharing someone's private information, like their gender identity or pronouns, without their permission. This is harmful and not okay.
  • Consent makes relationships safer and more trusting for everyone.
